Recipients of the Fallen Mohyliantsi Memorial Scholarship Announced
09.07.2025
The competition for the Fallen Mohyliantsi Memorial Fund Scholarship, established in memory of NaUKMA students and alumni who died in the Russian-Ukrainian war, has concluded.
In 2025, scholarships were awarded to two NaUKMA students for their active civic engagement and personal contribution to strengthening and developing the Mohyla community during wartime:
- Angelina Rozhets, Bachelor’s student in Law,
- Denys Myhal, Master’s student in Theory, History of Literature and Comparative Studies (Faculty of Humanities).
The certificates were awarded on June 28, 2025.
This year, the competition received applications from 56 Bachelor’s students and 16 Master’s students.
We sincerely thank each and every applicant for your engagement, heartfelt and thoughtful motivation letters, and your actions. You give us hope and remind us that the Mohyla community is alive, strong, and compassionate.
We encourage you to apply for the scholarship again next year.
How were the recipients selected?
Candidates were evaluated based on the following criteria:
- active civic engagement during the Russian-Ukrainian war;
- participation in initiatives at NaUKMA or beyond that supported the army, displaced persons, - students, or local communities;
- contributions to building and strengthening the Mohyla community.
The selection was carried out by a committee composed of representatives of NaUKMA and the alumni community.
The Fallen Mohyliantsi Memorial Fund Scholarship was established by the Kyiv-Mohyla Foundation and the NaUKMA Alumni Association to honor students and alumni who gave their lives for Ukraine.
It is a community-driven initiative aimed at preserving their memory by supporting those who continue their mission — through learning, civic engagement, and everyday life.
Previously, the Fallen Mohyliantsi Memorial Fund also awarded two grants to support student initiatives. The winning projects were “Memory of the Academy is Eternal” and the charity festival KMA Vyvykh.
