FAQ
Scholarships are awarded to students who demonstrate high academic achievements and active participation in the Kyiv-Mohyla community, thereby contributing to the university's and Ukraine's development.
As one of the top institutions of higher education, Kyiv-Mohyla Academy faces intense competition for government scholarships. Alongside our donors, we aim to provide additional motivation for our students.
Founders of named scholarships also can:
- Choose an educational program for which the student will receive their scholarship;
- Establish other criteria:
- Individuals affected by war.
- Prospective students from rural areas.
- Students from families with low or below-average income.
- Students in the 2nd to 4th year of their bachelor's program or the 1st to 2nd
year of their master's program.
- Choose the level of educational program: Bachelor's or Master's.
We appreciate any support for our Kyiv-Mohyla community. If you make a one-time contribution to the general scholarship fund, you can donate any amount. The fund will function as a basket, from which all collected funds will be accumulated into scholarships.
While filling out the charitable contribution form, you can provide us with your email address, and we will add you to our special mailing list so that you can receive regular newsletters about students receiving scholarships, their academic achievements and social activities.
If you choose to establish a named scholarship, you can decide which one of the available types to support. We will ask you to fill out a brief form so that we can contact you and discuss all the details (you can review these types and fill out the form HERE).
Students who receive a scholarship must meet the specified criteria and demonstrate high academic achievements.
If a student doesn't meet the specified criteria for receiving the scholarship during the year, the university reserves the right to select another recipient through a competition.
Regarding the named scholarships:
- Inform about the student who receives the scholarship;
- Establish a bridge of communication between donors and students;
- Provide information about the achievements of the scholarship recipient;
- Honor and inform about you as a donor who contributes to the growth of our students.

In case the project, donation or help is not implemented, all funds that were contributed will be directed to one of the fund's strategic goals or used to cover other needs of the Kyiv-Mohyla Academy (if there will be an appeal from KMA president and the agreement of the Foundation's Supervisory Board). In such cases, we will inform all benefactors by email letter sent to the addresses, collected from the donation form on the website.
1. Such redirection will be carried out only under the condition of the decision of the Supervisory Board of the Foundation. If this happens, we will inform all benefactors about the Supervisory Board's decision by email letter sent to the addresses, collected from the donation form on the website (https://charity.ukma.edu.ua/scholarships/scholarships).
2. A benefactor who makes a charitable contribution to a definite project agrees that the charitable contribution is non-refundable.
