Congratulations to the Scholarship Recipients!
30.09.2024
The new academic year has begun not only with lectures and events featuring prominent figures but also with new scholarships for Kyiv-Mohyla Academy’s students. We are sincerely grateful to the donors for supporting the talented youth at the university, the future leaders of Ukraine. We also thank the students for their active engagement in the Academy’s life and participation in the scholarship contests. We are excited to share their inspiring stories.
Andrii Sichovyi, recipient of the Perepechay-Tochon Scholarship.
Earlier, we shared about the Perepechay-Tochon Family, founders of a scholarship aimed at contributing to the development of Ukraine's diplomatic leaders. This scholarship is designed for those who study International Relations at the KMA.
Andrii is a second-year student of the KMA International Relations program. He is highly proactive and passionate, especially about initiatives that help him grow professionally. He has already been a delegate at the European Youth Parliament in Kyiv in 2023 and is also a contributing author on Researchgate.net.
“I recall being that one kid who constantly asked endless questions. My curiosity always led me to books, magazines, and conversations with adults. It helped me to find answers to many of my questions. Now, nothing has changed – I am still that boy who strives to uncover the truth. Kyiv-Mohyla Academy is a place where education is of high quality, and I am sure the knowledge I am gaining here will become the foundation of my achievements. Every day I understand that this is exactly where I want to be and contribute to its development,” shares Andrii.
Anastasiia Yatsuba, recipient of the Scholarship from the Ukrainian American Coordinating Council / Mykyta Safronenko.
Mykyta Safronenko studied at the Kyiv-Mohyla Academy from 2020 to 2011. Now, as Vice President of Partnerships and Fundraising at the Ukrainian-American Coordinating Council, Mykyta Safronenko actively supports the Academy and its students.
“KMA is for life! Once, I too walked those stairs to the 4th floor and listened to Radio KVIT. Today, UACC and I have the opportunity to help KMA students, the future leaders, and they can feel our support and what it means to be a part of the Great KMA Family. I hope that those who get scholarships and support now, in the future, will also help KMA students fulfil their dreams! Time is fleeting – the Academy is eternal!” shares Mykyta Safronenko.
In 2023, the Scholarship from the UACC/Mykyta Safronenko was announced for marketing students. Anastasiia Yatsuba, a second-year student in this program, stood out for her brave ideas and desire to make a personal contribution to the student community at the university. Anastasiia dreams of creating a student organization, kind of a business accelerator for KMA students.
Mariia Ilyash, recipient of the Boychuk Family Scholarship.
Lyubomyr, Yaroslav, and Oksana Boychuk, KMA graduates from 2001-2007, consistently and systematically support Kyiv-Mohyla Academy and its students. This scholarship, founded in 2022, has already awarded some students for their hard work. In 2023, the scholarship was announced again, this time for students of KMA Applied Mathematics and Cybersecurity programs.
Mariia Ilyash, a second-year Cybersecurity student, who got the scholarship shared her thoughts: “This year, I plan to complete the academic year successfully and find an internship, which will be a significant step in my further development in the cybersecurity field. This support has allowed me to focus on my studies and expand my practical skills,” shares Mariia.
The establishment of scholarships is a contribution to Ukraine’s future. This is a great support to the future leaders who will bring positive changes to the country’s society. Every story of a scholarship recipient is a testament to this. The young KMA students have an exceptional thirst for knowledge and the courage to bring their brilliant ideas to life.
