At the beginning of August, Kyiv-Mohyla Academy, Kyiv-Mohyla Foundation of Ukraine and KMA Alumni Association, launched a fundraising campaign for the Scholarship Fund in Memory of the Kyiv-Mohyla community members who lost their lives in the Russo-Ukrainian war. This fund will honor the memory of those who made the ultimate sacrifice and will continue their legacy. The scholarships will support talented students and faculty of the Academy, as well as valuable projects that will contribute to the development of the Kyiv-Mohyla community and Ukraine. On August 17, for the first time since the beginning of the full-scale war, Kyiv-Mohyla Academy hosted a charity alumni reunion. 120,000 UAH (3000 $) for the Scholarship Fund were raised from the ticket sales. The event was organized by the Kyiv-Mohyla Academy and KMA Alumni Association. Reface, a company founded by KMA alumni provided significant financial support for the event. Kyiv-Mohyla Foundation in Ukraine, Kyiv-Mohyla Business School, Styl Equiptame, KMA Giftshop, and Kostiantyn Peresiedov, Vitalii Ivanchenko, and Taras Lukachuk, who are KMA Alumni, also partnered in organizing the event.
The main part of the event featured two discussion panels with Kyiv-Mohyla Academy alumni and faculty members. The first panel was moderated by Tymur Demchuk and featured Serhii Fedorenko, Olesia Ostrovska-Liuta, Arsen Zhumadilov, and Liubov Shypovych, discussing the importance of unity for Ukraine's victory and resilience in the war. The speakers agreed that strengthening connections and partnerships across various sectors is essential for effective collaboration between the state, civil society, and external partners.
The second discussion was moderated by Vladyslav Hreziev and featured Tetiana Berezhna, Pavlo Kovtonyuk, Mykhailo Vynnytsky, and Yevhen Hlibovytsky. It was focused on the challenges Ukraine faces due to the war and mass migration. The speakers discussed potential ways to preserve and develop human capital for rebuilding the country and ensuring its future competitiveness.
We are grateful to everyone who participated in this unforgettable event and contributed to our mission. Together we are stronger.
