In January 2024, students of the KMA History Department completed a fundraising campaign for an award in honour of Professors Tetiana Balabushevych and Mykhaylo Kirskenko. The fundraising platform was the website of the Kyiv-Mohyla Foundation.

Now we are pleased to announce that our collective contributions and efforts gave the result: the award was established and presented to its laureate during this year's Convocation.

We send congratulations to Yaryna Travnikova, a KMA graduate, who received the award for her diligent work on her thesis titled "Women's Travel Experiences in the Long 18th Century: Based on the Texts of Elizabeth Craven and Mary Holderness."

Yaryna plans to continue her path as a historian and develop in the field of gender studies.

This award is not only a way to honour the memory of T. Balabushevych and M. Kirskenko but also a significant support for young researchers.

We sincerely thank everyone who contributed to this and other initiatives of the Kyiv-Mohyla Academy!
