We announce the Second Grant Competition for Student Projects named after Yevhen Kvaskov.

29.08.2025

The grant aims to support student projects that contribute to the development of Mohylianka and its community, the preservation of historical memory, and the consolidation of Ukrainian society.

Yevhen Kvaskov was a graduate of the BA in Economics (2000) and MA in Information Technology (2003). He was an active member of the Mohylianka community since his student years and maintained ties with the Academy even after graduation.

He was a volunteer who joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine from the first day of the full-scale invasion. He participated in the defense of Kyiv and the Kyiv region, as well as in the battles near Bakhmut in Donetsk. He was awarded the Order "For Courage" III class. He died in a heavy battle near Bakhmut in April 2023.

Alongside a successful career in major banks, Yevhen dedicated more than 15 years of his life to the national-patriotic movement: a permanent organizer of the Human Chain of Unity on the Paton Bridge and the patriotic training “Cossack Quest” for Kyiv schoolchildren, co-founder of the Brotherhood of the Cossack Martial Tradition Spas Mohyliantsi.

Working with young people, Yevhen used to say: “This is how we invest in the future.”

To continue Yevhen’s work, his family established a named grant. The values he stood for and died for have been transformed into selection criteria for the competition participants.

Following the results of the first competition for the Yevhen Kvaskov Student Project Grant, the winners were the YouTube project “Konstructyv” and the Mohylianka festival “StudFest: Shadows of Forgotten Funk.”
