Kyiv-Mohyla Academy and Ecotech Ukraine Solidify Partnership with Memorandum of Cooperation
08.07.2025
The National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy and the company Ecotech Ukraine have signed a memorandum of cooperation aimed at deepening the interaction between business and the academic community. The document was signed by Serhiy Kvit, President of NaUKMA, and Ihor Burkytsia, Chief Operating Officer of Ecotech Ukraine.
The partnership is a logical continuation of a joint project through which a solar power plant was constructed at the Academy and launched in May of this year. The current capacity of the plant is 110 kW, comprising 250 photovoltaic modules and three 50 kW grid inverters.
The solar power plant marks an important step toward the Academy’s energy independence and sustainable development. Today, it almost completely covers the energy needs of the second student campus. And soon, Ecotech Ukraine and Kyiv-Mohyla Academy will begin construction of the second phase.
A modern university is not only about knowledge, but also about responsibility — responsibility for the environment, sustainable development, and the country’s future. The Academy shows that Ukrainian educational institutions can keep pace with the times, implement energy-efficient solutions, and become drivers of societal change. Energy independence is a new challenge for universities during wartime.
“It is an honor for us to be part of such stories,” says Ihor Burkytsia. “We don’t just build solar power plants — we build a future where Ukrainian business, science, and society move in the same direction. Participating in initiatives that transform the energy landscape and inspire others — that is our mission.”
We’re truly grateful to our partners for the trust they’ve placed in us!
The project became possible thanks to the cooperation between the Kyiv-Mohyla Foundation, NaUKMA, and Ecotech Ukraine.
